the MAS MP3s

Never one to read a book from cover to cover, nor release a four minute song, the artist recorded this material to bring contrast to your ear.

W3.0 is an acoustic guitar player who creates in the domain of short track sound clip spaces such as "Tribute to the Homeless," his track dedicated to homeless people who open doors at the Store 24s.

Most music artists do full length songs categorized by genres you know. But this music is about different ideas that are short, often familiar, and a little "dirty" sometimes.

Music on this track list has been influenced by bus rides down busy streets like the long route from Boston to Arlington, Massachusetts.

The street is named Massachusetts Avenue, "MAS" for short. If you have ever been to Boston, you can't miss it. Berklee College of Music covers its corner and crossroads to Fenway Park, Bolyston street, and the Newbury street shopping district.

Massachusetts Avenue buses begin in Black Boston (Roxbury) then travel over the Charles River to Harvard Square and the end of the line. People of all colors ride it. The "That J" track speaks to the jazzy mix of Blacks and Latinos boarding buses at the Dudley Square terminal.

MIT and HARVARD book worms, beer drinkers and Berklee students from everywhere in the world jam the buses for short rides to Cambridge and back.

Seeing their fresh faces sitting beside Boston's ethnic bus base influenced the tunes ranging from "Babylon Disco Brother," "Wired Remix," and the more ambient sounding "Silence Wait," and "Hello Rock Rain."

Massachusetts Avenue is amplified by Central Square in Cambridge - the home of the popular Middle East alternative music club and restaurant complex. Along MAS Ave sits Cambridge City Hall, MIT and Harvard Universities, The Berklee College of Music, Lesley College, Cambridge College, Harvard Law School, natural food stores, shops, restaurants and empty spaces where record stores once lived.

There are many ingredients to MAS Ave people. They listen to ear bud music on the #1 DUDLEY bus. They'll ignore the blaring horns from autos and languages spoken by bus riders they can't understand. Some gasp at the serenity of the churches and the MAS Avenue bridge where you can see a sunset, the sail boats, and Boston's skyline. The MAS album tracklist offers contrasting sounds for everyday people going somewhere, while deciding what the next song to listen to should be.
